Reconnect Your ecobee by Carrier® to Wi-Fi with Air Comfort Service
]
0:00 — Welcome
"Did your ecobee thermostat drop off Wi-Fi? Don't worry — your heating and cooling still work just fine. In the next minute, we'll get it back online."
0:13 — Spot the Wi-Fi symbol
"First, look at the top of the home screen. A Wi-Fi symbol with a line through it means the thermostat isn't connected to your home network, and you'll usually see a red dot on the Menu button too. Your comfort isn't affected — the thermostat keeps running your schedule — you just lose the app and remote access. To see the connection status anytime, open the Menu, then Settings, then Wi-Fi."
0:38 — Check the easy stuff first
"Before touching the thermostat, start at your router. Check that another device — like your phone — is on Wi-Fi. Then unplug the router, wait thirty seconds, and plug it back in. Give it a few minutes — your ecobee often reconnects on its own."
0:55 — Open the Wi-Fi settings
"Still not connected? Time to reconnect by hand. Tap the Menu button in the top-right corner, open Settings, and choose Wi-Fi. Make sure the Wi-Fi Radio is set to Enabled, then tap Network to see the networks around you."
1:10 — Pick your network & enter the password
"Pick your home network from the list, then tap Next. One thing to know: ecobee connects to 2.4 gigahertz Wi-Fi, so a 5-gigahertz-only network won't show up. Now enter your Wi-Fi password on the keyboard. Take your time here — capital letters matter. Tap Connect, and the thermostat will tell you if it worked. If it didn't, double-check that password and try again."
1:32 — Recap
"So that's it: spot the symbol, restart the router, open Menu, Settings, Wi-Fi, and re-enter your password carefully. And if it's still being stubborn, don't wrestle with it — we're happy to help."
