Understand Your ecobee by Carrier® Schedule and the "Holding" Message with Air Comfort Service
0:00 — Welcome
"Your ecobee for Carrier does its best work on a schedule. In the next minute, we'll show you how that schedule runs, and what to do when you see the word 'Holding.'"
0:12 — How your schedule works
"Think of your day in a few simple blocks. Overnight, your thermostat eases into a Sleep setting. In the morning it switches to Home and warms things up — or cools them down. While you're out, it relaxes to an Away setting to save energy, then it's back to Home for the evening. Those three comfort settings — Home, Away, and Sleep — run automatically, all day, every day."
0:38 — Why it says "Holding"
"Now, say you want it a little different right now. Just nudge the temperature up or down. When you do, the set-point shows 'Holding.' That's simply your manual override — and it's only temporary. Your ecobee keeps it until the next scheduled change, then quietly goes back to your schedule."
0:56 — How to cancel a Hold
"Want your schedule back sooner? Look for 'Holding' on the set-point, and tap the little X right beside it. That cancels the hold and your schedule picks right back up. If the house ever feels off all day, a forgotten Hold is usually the reason — and now you know the fix."
1:16 — Edit your schedule
"Want to make the schedule your own? On the thermostat, tap Menu, then Schedule, and tap any block to change its time or its temperature. Even easier — open the ecobee app on your phone and set it from your chair. Do it once, and it repeats every week."
1:34 — Recap
"So that's it: your schedule runs Home, Away, and Sleep on its own; a quick change is just a temporary Hold; tap the X to cancel it; and you can fine-tune everything on the thermostat or the app."
